BisonHead Records was founded by Emmy Award-winning film composer and recording artist Peter Buffett. Perhaps best known for his
groundbreaking PBS special and concert series "Spirit", Buffett deployed Native American themes to question the insatiable materialism
of Western Civilization. This theme has deep roots in Buffett's body of work, and continues to evolve in next year's national "Spirit
II/Seventh Fire" tour, as well as in the philosophy behind BisonHead Records.
"We specialize in progressive American roots music at BisonHead," says Buffett. "We try to bring our shared musical heritage forward to
speak to a really wide audience--I like to call it No-Age music. Our philosophy? We hew records out of core-culture bedrock. It's all in
there, we just have to let it out." |
